Silicone-free defoamer for solvent-based coatings, solvent-based printing inks and composite to prevent foam formation during production, filling and application. DELTA-FC®1020 displays spontaneous defoaming properties and demonstrates no negative influence on inter-coat adhesion when overcoated. Due to its strong incompatibility (better defoaming properties), the influence upon the transparency of clear systems and upon cratering must be evaluated. When used in the ink industry, it reduces the accumulation of foam in the ink pan or reservoir during the printing process.

Applications and usage:
DELTA-FC®1020 is highly recommended in the following application systems:
● Thermoplastic acrylics especially when applied by brush or roller
● Acid-curing wood finishes
● Unsaturated polyesters
● Cold-curing epoxy systems
Due to its high incompatibility, which makes it strong in defoaming, the influence of DELTA-FC®1020 upon the transparency of clear or non-pigmented systems must be evaluated.
It should be added prior to processing. A post-addition is possible though, if sufficient shear forces are applied to ensure uniform distribution of the additive.

DELTA-FC®1020 is suited for solvent-based formulations. It can be used in solvent-based pigment bases and printing inks.
DELTA-FC®1020 is particularly effective in nitrocellulose-based systems and may be used in gravure and flexographic printing.
DELTA-FC®1020 can be added in the premix stage prior to dispersion. If added post manufacture or press-side, care should be taken to ensure uniform distribution.

DELTA-FC®1020 prevents the encapsulation of air during the production and application of duroplastic resin systems (i.e. unsaturated polyestersetc).
DELTA-FC®1020 is suitable for the following applications/processes:
● Gel coats
DELTA-FC®1020 should be incorporated into the resin system prior to processing in order to prevent foam and blisters. If it is added at the end of the formulation, good dispersion must be ensured.

DELTA-FC®1020 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The production date is indicated on the container.
