DELTA-DC® 4244 is an anionic/cationic wetting and dispersing additive to improve the wetting of pigment surfaces and organically treated Bentonites and to reduce the time required for the grinding process.
DELTA-DC® 4244 is the standard wetting and dispersing additive for industrial and architectural coatings. Not only can it be used as a multi-purpose wetting and dispersing additive, but it can also be utilized to activate the organophilic Bentonites.
DELTA-DC® 4244 is suitable for coating and composite.
Composition:Unsaturated polyamide and acid ester salts
Appearance:Transparent, brownish liquid
Amine value:28-40 mg KOH/g
Acid value:46-65 mg KOH/g
Applications and usage:
DELTA-DC® 4244 reduces the interfacial tension between pigments or extenders and the vehicle leading to:
● Reduced dispersion/grinding times
● Decreased pigment sedimentation
● Increased gloss
● Improved flow
DELTA-DC® 4244 is a multi-purpose wetting and dispersing additive, which is compatible with all solvent and solvent-free coating systems. It can be used as well to provide excellent activation of organically treated Bentonites.
DELTA-DC® 4244 improves the dispersing/grinding process of fillers in glass fiber reinforced plastics. Through a better wetting and a more homogeneous distribution of the fillers, a strong viscosity reduction is obtained. This results in an improvement of the physical properties like the impact resistance, especially in systems filled with Al(OH)3.
DELTA-DC® 4244 should be added prior to the dispersion/grinding process.
0.2-1.0% (delivery form) on inorganic pigments
1.0-5.0% (delivery form) on organic pigments
0.2-0.75% (delivery form) on extenders and TiO2
