DELTA-DC® 4002 is a non-ionic general purpose dispersion control additive for low-end non-aqueous systems with polarity ranging from low to medium. It improves pigment wetting, reduces the time required for the grinding process and stabilizes the pigment dispersion.
Composition :Solution of non-ionic surfactant
Solvent(s) :White spirit
Appearance :Clear brownish liquid
Amine value :50-60 mg KOH/g
Active ingredients :65%
Applications and usage:
Due to its particularly good combination of price and performance, DELTA-DC® 4002 is a very attractive general-purpose dispersion control additive for decorative paints and low-end industrial coatings with polarity ranging from low to medium.
DELTA-DC® 4002 stabilizes titanium dioxide, extenders and other inorganic and organic pigments leading to the following properties:
● Improved color strength
● Reduced viscosity
● Higher pigment loading
● Higher gloss
● Improved pigment dispersion
● Reduced dispersion time
It is especially suited for the following application systems:
● Short-, medium and long-oil alkyds
● Pigment concentrates for solvent-based decorative paints
● 2-K epoxy and polyurethanes
White base paints stabilized with DELTA-DC® 4002 have better color acceptance and do not
demonstrate flooding and floating when tinted with universal colorants.
DELTA-DC® 4002 should be added prior to pigment grinding.
0.25-2.0% (delivery form) upon total formulation weight (inorganic and organic pigments).
The optimum addition level will depend on the specific formulation.
Safety and Handling:
DELTA-DC® 4002 should be handled in accordance with good industrial practice. Detailed information can be found in the Safety Data Sheet.
DELTA-DC® 4002 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The production date is indicated on the container.
